This is not a project of Rotary International

Dear Rotary Rose Float Parade Committee,

Someone introduced me as the “Lucky guy from Texas” that won the 2019 raffle. Lucky doesn’t begin to describe it. The moment I walked into the float barn I got that same feeling I got at Disney World standing at the foot of the Magic Kingdom.. It was a Magical overwhelming feeling of Happy! I immediately wanted to share the moment.. I grabbed my phone and went Facebook live.. It was 5am California that would be 7 am back in Texas just right for all my friends just getting up, they enjoyed my excitement as I toured the barn. The day just got better from that point, As Rotarians arrived around the float the excitement built as well as the friendships.. And this was just practice/ judging day.. Parade day was just off the charts. Pre parade fellowship, talking to spectators and then float began to move… And everything just got REAL. I WAS ON A FLOAT IN THE ROSE BOWL PARADE! I was screaming with excitement on the inside, looking at faces of the people that lined the street, the smiles, watching there eyes light up, watching them start dancing as we passed. Watching the float walkers interact with the people and the people reacting back. Happiness, Joy, Excitement, Inspiration, Goodwill and better friendships, it was a Rotary moment that reinforces everything we work so hard for and everything we think say and do.

Thank you so much for this wonderful “Rotary Float experience”.
